The following meetings are being held on the Minneapolis 2040 Comp Plan in various wards. The meetings will be held by the council member for the area but planning staff will be there to answer questions on the plan. Some council members have indicated that they have not received much push back from constituents on the plan so we are encouraging folks to attend these meetings and share your concerns.
Party With a Purpose: Smart Growth Minneapolis Happy Hour
Date and Time
Thu, October 25, 2018
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM CDT
The Woman’s Club Of Minneapolis
410 Oak Grove Street
Minneapolis, MN 55403
Why: The Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan proposes
massive land use changes on a scale unprecedented anywhere in the nation. It would “upzone” the entire city, clearing the way for greater density on virtually every square inch of land in Minneapolis. Yet no one knows what its environmental effect would be — because no environmental study has been done.
What: Get informed — at Happy Hour with live music!
We demand that the City of Minneapolis not approve the Plan until environmental impacts have been identified and the Plan is changed to address them. If they won’t, we will take legal action. Learn more about it from:
- Kirsten Pauly, environmental/land use consultant, Sunde Engineering
- Jack Perry, lead land use attorney, Smart Growth Minneapolis
Also enjoy the music of singer-songwriter Jonatha Brooke and the Adi Yeshaya Trio!
